April 24, 2007
The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today issued two orders granting licenses to Liberty Power Holding, LLC, and Liberty Power Delaware, LLC, as alternative electric suppliers (AESs).
The MPSC granted licenses to the companies as AESs. They may begin operation when they notify the MPSC in dockets U-15139 and U-15140 that they have established offices in Michigan, as required by MPSC rules.
The MPSC approved the licenses based on a determination that the companies possess sufficient technical competence to engage in energy transactions, are capable of meeting safety requirements for electric operations, and comply with other lawful obligations.
The companies must comply with all applicable provisions of the Customer Choice and Electricity Reliability Act and the MPSC's orders, and provide service to customers within a reasonable time. Failure to comply may result in revocation of the licenses or other penalties.
The companies are both headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Labor & Economic Growth.
