MPSC Approves Settlement Agreement Authorizing Upper Peninsula Power Company's 2012 Power Supply Cost Recovery Factor

May 24, 2012 - The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today approved a settlement agreement authorizing Upper Peninsula Power Company's 2012 power supply cost recovery (PSCR) factor.

Under the terms of the settlement, the utility is authorized to implement a PSCR factor of negative $0.00853 per kilowatt-hour for its Michigan retail electric customers during the 12-month period ending Dec. 31, 2012, effective immediately.

The utility, Calumet Electronics Corporation, Michigan Technological University, Citizens Against Rate Excess and the MPSC staff participated in the settlement. White Pine Electric Power LLC filed a statement of non-objection to the settlement agreement.

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
