The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) today announced that throughout March council staff will conduct open meetings to inform citizens about the Council's mission and FY2009 grant programs.  The FY2009 grant application deadline is May 1, 2008.  In addition, representatives from ArtServe Michigan will discuss new and exciting advocacy strategies developed specifically for the arts and culture sector.

"This is a great opportunity for organizations to learn how to apply for funding for a wide variety of arts and culture-related activity," said MCACA Executive Director John Bracey. 

Michigan nonprofit organizations, schools and municipalities are eligible to apply for projects that would take place between Oct. 1, 2008, and Sept. 30, 2009.  The information sessions are free and pre-registration or RSVPs are not required.  For more information, contact MCACA at (517) 241-4011 or visit www.michigan.gov/arts.
