County Population Estimates by Age, Sex, Race, and Hispanic Origin: 2000-2002

These population estimates were prepared by the U.S. Census Bureau through the Federal-State Cooperative Program for Population Estimates. They are based on a cohort-component methodology in which different death rates and migration rates are applied to each age group as it grows older.

These estimates were released on September 18, 2003 and they are scheduled to be updated on an annual basis.

Comparable estimates for other states can be obtained from the Census Bureau’s Web site,  http://eire.census.gov/popest/estimates.php
