Planning is under way for the next special exhibit at the Michigan Historical Museum in Lansing and you might have just the photo, memento or story that makes the exhibit complete.

Scheduled to run from January 10 through September 14, 2009, Michigan's Roadside Attractions will look at the fun, interesting, even quirky, places that travelers visit while on their way somewhere else. If you have traveled Michigan's highways and byways, chances are you've stopped at sites like Big John, the World's Largest Miner, near Iron Mountain; the Twin Towers in the Irish Hills; or any number of placesperhaps one that no longer existsfor amusement, to rest, to buy a souvenir or to have your picture taken.
Deadline for submitting photos, artifacts or stories:
October 1, 2008.
The process for lending or donating an artifact to the Michigan Historical Museum begins by completing a museum artifact donation form. Then, a review committee determines the appropriateness of the artifact for the special exhibit and/or the permanent collections. Your generosity in considering the Michigan Historical Museum is always appreciated.
