Giving to the Library of Michigan through the Foundation
The Foundation is grateful to receive pledges and gifts of cash, stocks, insurance, and property, as well as
estate gifts through bequests and trusts to benefit the Library of Michigan and its programs. Memorial gifts
or gifts in honor of an individual are welcomed by the Foundation. Cumulative donations or pledge commitments of $1,000 or more are recognized on an engraved leaf or plate on the Foundation's Donor Recognition Tree prominently displayed on the main public service floor of the Library of Michigan. Other naming opportunities are available for donors. The Foundation guarantees that 100% of a donor's gift that is designated or restricted for a specific fund or purpose will be allocated for that purpose. The Library of Michigan Foundation is a non profit 501 (c)(3) public charity foundation. Gifts to the Foundation are considered tax deductible on a donor's federal income taxes as allowed by the IRS. The Foundation's financial records and transactions are audited annually by independent outside certified public accountants. Additionally, the Foundation is licensed annually by the Michigan Attorney General's Office to solicit and receive charitable contributions: MICS/CT 8742.
