The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) was established by the State Legislature in 1966 to facilitate public and private partnerships which create and maintain decent and affordable housing for low- and moderate-income residents of the State of Michigan through technical and financial assistance. What assistance is available for senior citizens?

The Office of Services to the Aging (OSA) provides helpful information regarding housing options for the elderly, affordable prescription medication, support for caregivers, service referral, and links to health care programs and providers as well as therapeutic and medical services. Who can I contact about Medicaid fraud?

Those suspecting fraud or abuse of any Department of Community Health program should contact the Department’s Program Investigation Division toll-free at 1-866-428-0005 or send a letter to:

Medicaid is a health insurance program that helps certain individuals and families with low income and resources pay for some or all of their medical bills. It is the largest government program providing medical and health-related services in America. Who can I contact to complain about problems with my food and cash assistance with DHS?

If you are currently having a problem with the provision of food or cash assistance through your local DHS branch office, you should contact the administrative zone office for your district. You can find contact information for these offices by visiting the Department of Human Services Composite Directory website and searching by zone number or county. If you are not sure of your zone number you can consult the Directory of DHS Zone Offices by clicking on the document link below.

Who do I contact if I have been denied medical, financial, or bridge card assistance?

If you do not qualify to receive health and human service related benefits through the State of Michigan, you can contact local charities and advocacy groups that may be able to assist you.
