Whereas , Our citizens should be aware of the simple but life saving information that can protect them from extreme heat; and,

Whereas , The National Weather Service, in cooperation with the Michigan Committee for Severe Weather Awareness, is educating the public about the dangers of extreme heat in Michigan; and now therefore be it,

Resolved , That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim May 28, 2008, as Heat Awareness Day in Michigan, and I encourage all citizens to learn more about protecting themselves, their families, and their homes.
