Whereas, Auctions of real and personal property are a beneficial marketing tool in the United States and the world; and,
Whereas, The National Auctioneers Association (NAA) encourages members to support their communities and local businesses through the conduct of auctions, charity and other forms of free enterprise; and,
Whereas, The NAA has contributed more than $3 million to help disease stricken children treated at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee; and,
Whereas, The NAA and its members seek to establish and uphold the highest standards of professionalism for its members in serving the American public; and now therefore be it,
Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim April 16, 2005, as Auctioneers Day in Michigan. I encourage all citizens to recognize the contributions of NAA auctioneers for their service to our communities, our economy and to the special children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
