Children's Day

Whereas, International Children’s Day in the USA will be celebrated on June 1st, 2006; and,

 

Whereas, Now, more than ever, when violence and tragic events are taking place in our schools with increased frequency, we should all reflect on our children and ourselves; and,

 

Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim June 1, 2006, as Children’s Day in Michigan and encourage all citizens to take a moment and remember the children as we go about our daily activities and present ourselves as good role models.
