I am delighted to join with the National Association of State Personnel Executives in observing National Public Service Recognition Week which begins today. And, I am pleased to tell you that I have specifically designated Wednesday, May 7, as State Employee Recognition Day.

We have a very dedicated workforce in this state, and I don't want to miss this opportunity to thank you and recognize your efforts, even in small and symbolic ways.
