LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced the appointment of Anthony L. Parker, representing the general public, to the Residential Builders’ and Maintenance and Alteration Contractors Board.  Parker, of Detroit, succeeds Frank E. Smith whose term has expired.  Parker’s term will expire March 31, 2006.
 
“I am confident that Anthony’s commitment and expertise will ensure that building standards of the highest quality are maintained,” Granholm said.
 
Parker serves as President and CEO of Parkstone Development LLC. which provides and manages real estate services.  Previously, Parker served as vice president of development for Farbman Group NAI. from 1999-2001 and served as properties manager for the Department of Public Services, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, from 1993-1999.
 
Parker received a bachelor’s of arts degree in architecture from the Howard University School of Architecture and Urban Planning in Washington D.C.
