TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF RULES FOR GASOLINE VAPOR PRESSURE
WHEREAS, under 1982 PA 1981, MCL 10.83, during an energy emergency the Governor
may by executive order suspend a rule of a state agency if strict compliance
with the rule will prevent, hinder, or delay necessary action in coping with
the emergency;
WHEREAS, Executive Order 2003-11 declared a State of Energy Emergency beginning
on August 21, 2003;
WHEREAS, appropriate measures must be taken in response to the energy emergency
to ensure that gasoline supplies will remain sufficient and to assure the health,
safety, and welfare of Michigan residents and visitors;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JENNIFER M. GRANHOLM, Governor of the State of Michigan,
pursuant to powers vested in the Governor by the Michigan Constitution of 1963
and Michigan law, order that the Regulation No. 561, entitled, “Dispensing
Facility Reid Vapor Pressure,” promulgated by the Laboratory Division
of the Department of Agriculture, 1997 AACS, R 285.561.1 to 285.561.10, be suspended
for the duration of the energy emergency declared in Executive Order 2003-11.
Additionally, Executive Order 2003-10 is rescinded.
This Order is effective upon filing.
