Intern, Katy Rogers had the opportunity to attend the 2008 Sundance Film Festival from Jan. 17-22 in Park City, Utah. She viewed seven different films, including the opening night film, IN BRUGES. She heard many great speakers, and attended a filmmaker's lunch to promote filming in Michigan. Her favorites were THE WACKNESS, starring Josh Peck and Olivia Thirlby (after which she got to meet Mary-Kate Olsen!) and JUST ANOTHER LOVE STORY, a Danish thriller.
This was her third year at the festival. She has become very familiar with Park City and the tricks and trades of the festival.
"We usually don't get tickets to a lot of what we want to see. We just wait to see what the buzz is and then get in line for that movie - it works out well for us," said Rogers, "it's always fun to go, it reminds me why I am so interested in this industry, the films here are always so innovative and there is a real sense of community."
Katy is a senior at Michigan State University, majoring in Communications.
