What happens after I
file an application for a license?
After receiving the
occupational license application and fee, the MGCB will conduct a preliminary
background investigation to determine if a temporary Occupational License will
be issued. You will receive notification
from the perspective employer when to appear at the MGCB offices for processing
which will include taking your photograph and fingerprints.
Your temporary
Occupational License will be delivered to the casino/supplier and later issued
to you. Once your background
investigation is completed a report will be sent to the Michigan Gaming Control
Board recommending that your application be granted or denied. Once the
application is granted you will be issued an occupational license.
Following receipt of
a completed Supplier License Application, including all necessary disclosures
from key persons and owners, the application will be processed and an initial
background check will be performed. Following
the initial background check, a Temporary Supplier License may be issued. Upon receipt of Temporary Supplier License a
company may begin conducting business with the Detroit casinos. Subsequently, a full investigation by board
staff will commence, including a review of the business, its key persons;
parent companies/qualifying businesses and owners.
Following the completion of the investigation, board staff makes their
recommendation for the approval or denial of the Supplier License to the
5-member Board. The 5-member Board will
then vote on the approval or denial of the Supplier License during one of their
scheduled public meetings.
