MULTI-AGENCY MOTOR POOLS
VEHICLE RESERVATION SYSTEM OVERVIEW
The
following options can be selected while using the vehicle reservation system
(VRS):
Sign In
Click on this option to sign in to the Vehicle Reservation
System (VRS). A user must have a valid
employee identification number to sign in.
To register to use the VRS, please contact VTS at 517-322-5000, VTSCustomerService@michigan.gov.
Home
Click on this option to go to the VRS Home Page.
Click on this option to make a vehicle reservation.
Cancel Reservation
Click on this option to cancel a reservation you made.
Employee Reservations
Click on this option to see what reservations you currently
have pending in the system.
Location Reservations
Use on the arrow in the box to view the currently pending
reservations for your location.
Employee Information
Click on this option to check your employee information as
it appears in the VRS. Please notify VTS
at 517-322-5000, VTSCustomerService@michigan.gov,
if a correction is needed to this information.
Click to Continue
Click on this option to return to the VRS Home Page.
Sign Out
Click on this option to exit the VRS. You may experience a problem signing off the
system. When this happens, you see the
“Sign Out Successful” popup, but the main VRS screen still shows “Sign Out” as
the first option. We are working to fix
this problem. In the meantime, close
the VRS window, open Internet Explorer, go to the “Tools” menu, click on
“Internet Options.” Click on the
“Delete Cookies” button. The next time
you go to the VRS home page, it will ask you to sign in again.
The submit button activates the selections you have made at
a particular page.
The clear button available on most pages erases any entries
you have made on that page.
System Message Pages provide you with messages appropriate
to what you are doing in the system.

To access the VRS, go to the VTS website at www.michigan.gov/dmb/0,1607,7-150-9141_13133_13720-92924--,00.html
or Michigan.gov/dmb, Agency Services, Vehicle Services, Motor Pools and click
on Vehicle Reservation System - Multi-Agency Motor Pools.
SIGN IN
PAGE
Enter your employee number in the box, and click on the
submit button. Be advised that everything you do in this system is recorded in
a log under your employee number
RESERVE
VEHICLE
Location: Click on the arrow in the box to select your
location
Equipment Type: Use the arrow in the box to select the type
of equipment you wish to find in the vehicle you are reserving. If a specific department has equipment in a
vehicle, this will be identified here.
If there is no specific equipment in a vehicle, the equipment type for
the vehicle will be identified as “No Specific Equipment.” If it doesn’t matter to you if the vehicle
contains equipment or not, you may select “All Available Vehicles.” Please try not to reserve vehicles
containing equipment if you do not need to utilize that equipment. The equipment in the vehicles belongs to
specific departments and permission from the department should be obtained
prior to using any equipment.
Pickup: Enter the
date (year, month, date, time) that you wish to have your reservation begin.
Return: Enter the
date (year, month, date, time) that you wish to have your reservation end.
Notes:
·
The pickup date defaults to the current date. You will not
be able make a reservation for a day prior to the day you are placing the
reservation.
·
You will be able to reserve a vehicle for up to 60 days in
advance.
·
You may reserve only one vehicle for any given time.
·
A vehicle may not be reserved for more than one individual
at the same time.
·
A vehicle is assigned to a specific location and parking
area. The vehicle should be returned to
the same location in a clean, usable condition with a least ½ tank of fuel.
Once you have entered the information needed to make your
reservation, click on the submit button.
You will be taken to the Available Vehicles Page.
AVAILABLE
VEHICLES PAGE
This page provides you a list of vehicles available for the
time period you have specified.
Click on the box to the left of the vehicle you wish to
reserve. You can only select one box.
Changing your selection de-selects any prior box you have selected.
Once you have made your selection, click on the submit
button. You will be taken to the Reservation Confirmation Page.
CONFIRMATION
PAGE
This page confirms that your reservation has been made, and
provides the specifics of the reservation.
The reservation is given a random confirmation number
by the VRS. Please note the Confirmation Number. The confirmation number also appears on the Employee Reservations
screen. If the vehicle reservation
needs to be cancelled, the confirmation number will be needed. Other employees do not have access to your
confirmation number.
A confirmation of your reservation will be e-mailed to you. Print the e-mail and take it with you to pick
up the vehicle.
CANCEL
RESERVATION
Enter the confirmation number of the reservation you wish to
cancel and click on the submit button.
Notes:
·
You cannot cancel a reservation without the reservation
number.
·
No one but the person who made the reservation or the system
administrator can cancel a reservation.
You will be taken to a System Message Page that will confirm
your reservation has been canceled. When you then select the click to
continue option, you will be taken to the VRS home page.
