Enterprise Rent-A-Car Guidelines
VTS has delegated authority to authorize Enterprise rentals to departments. Your department Vehicle
Coordinator can provide your department’s
policy on renting vehicles from Enterprise.
Enterprise Vehicle Selection Restrictions
- Contact
your department Vehicle
Coordinator to obtain approval prior to making reservations with
Enterprise.
- Cars
- Choose intermediate, standard or full size, depending on the number of
passengers (generally, 3 or more passengers for full size).
- Minivans
- Choose only if hauling cargo and/or multiple passengers.
- Rental
of SUVs, Premium and Luxury Cars always requires justification.
- Rental
of 15 passenger vans requires a CDL and/or training. Contact Vince Reynolds or Dave Ancell
at VTS (517-322-5000) for training information. At least 1 week notice is required to determine
availability.
- Long
term (over 1 week) rentals require VTS approval.
Driver Requirements
- All
drivers must be at least 21 years of age.
Rentals for drivers under 21 must be arranged by VTS. Additional charges will apply to
rentals for drivers 18 to 21.
- All
drivers must have a valid driver’s license.
Vehicles are rented on a 24-hour basis. If a
vehicle is taken out at 9:00 AM on Monday, it is due back by 9:00 AM on
Tuesday. For each hour that the rental
is late, an hourly charge will be added (minus the one-hour grace period), but
will not exceed one daily rental cost. Vehicles rented on a Friday for use on a
Monday will be charged for each day out including Saturday and Sunday.
