DTE Energy Foundation Tree Planting Grants

Forms and Publications

Program Objective(s):

To increase the number of properly planted, established and maintained trees within the service territory of DTE Energy.

Criteria:

Tree planting projects such as park, right-of-way, city street, nature study areas, school grounds planting and neighborhood revitalization projects. All trees must be planted on public land or land open to the public.

Eligibility:

Local units of government, schools and nonprofit organizations within the service territory of DTE Energy. Please review the following links to determine if your project is within an eligible service area of either Michigan Consolidated Gas Co. (MichCon) or Detroit Edison Co.

Application Process:

Applications are announced each Fall (November-December), submitted to the Forest Management Division and reviewed by Division and DTE staff. Applications are approved, adjusted or denied. Applicants are notified and agreements signed.

Deadline(s):
Applications are due annually each Fall.  Visit www.michigan.gov/ucf.

Timeline(s):
Project duration: Approximately 10 months (March through December)

Grant requests may be up to $3,000 each
