Iron Ore and the Civil War

Location: Michigan Iron Industry Museum, Negaunee

Activities begin at 9:30 a.m. both days.

Visitors investigate a cannon at a Michigan Iron Industry Civil War encampment.The Civil War and the role Michigan's iron resources played in preserving the Union come to life this weekend. The Civil War artillery encampment features military and civilian camp life, cannon demonstrations and cooking demonstrations.

The weekend fun also includes live period music, guest speakers, dramatic performances and children's games and activities.
