WatercraftSPECIAL LOCAL WATERCRAFT CONTROLS - IRON COUNTYFIRE LAKE - WC-36-94-001 - High-speed boating and water skiing prohibited. On the waters of Fire lake, all within section 17, 19, 20, and 29, T44N, R33W, Crystal Falls township, Iron county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to: (a) Operate a vessel at high speed. (b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, a water sled, kite, surfboard, or other similar contrivance. "High speed boating" is defined by the Marine Safety Act to mean a speed at or above which a motorboat reaches a planing condition. History: Eff. January 3, 1995 FIRST AND SECOND FORTUNE LAKES, CHANNEL BETWEEN - WC-36-92-001 - Slow--no wake speed. On the waters of the channel between First and Second Fortune lakes, section 34 of Crystal Falls township, Iron county, from the north end of the channel in First Fortune lake to a line running east and west in Second Fortune lake 150 yards south of the bridge between First and Second Fortune lakes, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed. The boundaries of the area described immediately above shall be marked with signs and with buoys. All buoys must be placed as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with the State Uniform Waterway Marking System. History: Eff. September 30, 1992 IRON LAKE - WC-36-97-002 - No high-speed boating. On the waters of Iron Lake, lying within sections 10, 11, and 2, town 43 north, range 35 west, township of Iron River, county of Iron, state of Michigan, it is unlawful to operate a vessel at high speed. "High-speed boating" is defined by the Marine Safety Act to mean a speed at or above which a motorboat reaches a planing condition. History: Eff. August 6, 1997 JAMES LAKE - WC-36-97-003 - No high-speed boating. On the waters of James Lake, lying within sections 22, 23, 15, and 14, town 44 north, range 37 west, township of Stambaugh, county of Iron, state of Michigan, it is unlawful to operate a vessel at high speed. "High-speed boating" is defined by the Marine Safety Act to mean a speed at or above which a motorboat reaches a planing condition. KILLDEER LAKE - R281.736.5 - Motorboats prohibited. 5. On the waters of Killdeer lake, section 29, town 46 north, range 37 west, Iron River township, Iron county, it is unlawful to operate a motorboat. History: Eff. November 19, 1974 LAKE ELLEN - R281.736.1 - High-speed boating and water skiing prohibited. 1. On the waters of Lake Ellen, sections 26 and 35, town 44 north, range 31 west, Mansfield township, Iron county, it is unlawful to: (a) Operate a vessel at high speed. (b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, kite, surfboard, or other similar contrivance. History: Eff. January 3, 1975 LIGHT LAKE - R281.736.7 - Slow--no wake speed. 7. On the waters of Light lake, sections 16, 17, and 20, T44N, R32W, Crystal Falls township, Iron county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed. History: Eff. June 16, 1984 LONG LAKE - R281.736.6 - Slow--no wake speed. 6. On the waters of Long lake, sections 16 and 17, T43N, R33W, Crystal Falls township, Iron county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed. History: Eff. October 24, 1978 MADELYN LAKE - R281.736.4 - Motorboats prohibited. 4. On the waters of Madelyn lake, section 28, town 46 north, range 37 west, Iron River township, Iron county, it is unlawful to operate a motorboat. History: Eff. November 19, 1974 ROBINSON LAKE - WC-36-97-001 - No high-speed boating. On the waters of Robinson Lake, section 27, town 46 north, range 37 west, township of Iron River, county of Iron, state of Michigan, it is unlawful to operate a vessel at high speed. "High speed boating" is defined by the Marine Safety Act to mean a speed at or above which a motorboat reaches a planing condition. History: Eff. July 7, 1997 SKYLINE LAKE - R281.736.3 - Motorboats prohibited. 3. On the waters of Skyline lake, sections 28 and 29, town 46 north, range 37 west, Iron River township, Iron county, it is unlawful to operate a motorboat. History: Eff. November 19, 1974 SPREE LAKE - R281.736.2 - Motorboats prohibited. 2. On the waters of Spree lake, section 28, town 46 north, range 37 west, Iron River township, Iron county, it is unlawful to operate a motorboat. History: Eff. November 19, 1974 SWAN LAKE - WC-36-87-001 - High-speed boating and water skiing prohibited. On the waters of Swan lake, section 2, T43N, R33W and section 35, T44N, R33W, Crystal Falls township, Iron county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to: (a) Operate a vessel at high speed. (b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, a water sled, kite, surfboard, or other similar contrivance. History: Eff. July 17, 1987
