Institute for Fisheries Research

Museums Annex BuildingThe Institute for Fisheries Research (IFR) is a cooperative unit of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the University of Michigan (UM). IFR was established February 7, 1930, and is located on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Personnel include employees of DNR Fisheries Division and UM faculty, staff, and students. We conduct research on fisheries and other aquatic resources of Michigan.
