Position: Trades Helper

Interests/Responsibilities: The Trades Helper here at the Charlevoix Fisheries Research Station, is basically a "jack of all trades". My various and sundry duties include everything from acting as safety officer and grounds keeper to performing building maintenance, working at Oden State Fish Hatchery, and assisting researchers and others at the station on projects.

Every year in the fall I am responsible for the evaluation of salmon returns to the Medusa Weir. Numbers of salmon returning each year provide an indicator which we can use to manage salmon in Lake Michigan.

Besides my many office duties, I can also be especially helpful in field. I am a certified Divemaster, EMT specialist, fire department captain, and firefighter.
