Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery Visitor Center Hosts Project WET Workshop Nov. 7

A workshop for teachers, non-formal educators and anyone interested in learning more about water education and how to help individuals develop a better understanding of water resources is being offered on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Wolf Lake State Fish Hatchery Visitor Center in Mattawan. The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The visitor center is located at 34270 CR 652 in Mattawan.

Cost for the workshop is $25, which includes a program activity guide. Participants should bring an additional $5 for lunch. Payment is due on the day of the workshop. Cash and checks are acceptable forms of payment. Please make workshop fee checks out to GVSU-AWRI and lunch checks to the State Of Michigan. Preregistration is required.

Participants will learn how to promote awareness, appreciation, knowledge and stewardship of water resources through the dissemination of classroom-ready teaching aids. This workshop is a collaborative effort between the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Office of Communications and Project WET, an award-winning 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has dedicated itself to the mission of reaching children, parents, teachers and community members of the world with water education.

Please dress appropriately for weather conditions. Some activities will take place outside, rain or shine.
