Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park today announced Ojibwe educators Jim and Judy St. Arnold will present their special interpretive program "Ojibwe Culture and Way of Life" Saturday, July 19, and Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Union Bay Campground. Both programs are free and begin at 6 p.m.
Active head dancers in powwow circles throughout the upper Midwest, the St. Arnolds present a fascinating hands-on program featuring artistic items and instructional materials that convey the traditional arts, historical perspectives and contributions of Native Americans of the Great Lakes region.
Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is located at 33303 Headquarters Rd., three miles west of Silver City on M-107. All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the park entrance. Cost is $24 for a resident annual and $6 for a resident daily. A nonresident annual is $29 and a nonresident daily is $8.
