Citizens Committee for Michigan State Parks to Meet May 28 at P. J. Hoffmaster State Park

The Citizens Committee for Michigan State Parks (CCMSP) will meet Wednesday, May 28, at P. J. Hoffmaster State Park, located at 6585 Lake Harbor Road in Muskegon.

Prior to the regular meeting, the finance subcommittee will hold a working session at noon to further discuss long-term sustainable funding for the Michigan state parks and recreation system.

The regular meeting of the committee begins at 1:30 p.m., with a brief update on committee assignments, followed by public appearances. The committee then will receive an update on the Island Lake Shooting Range, a brief presentation on the Porcupine Mountains Music Festival, and reports on various parks and recreation programs, motor vehicle permits, camping reservations and financial performance, and various land, policy and legislative issues that affect the state parks and recreation system.

The Citizens Committee for Michigan State Parks is an advisory group created by Public Act 392 of 2004 to address issues concerning state parks and recreation areas, including planning for long-term sustainable funding.

Individuals attending the meeting are requested to refrain from using heavily scented personal care products to enhance accessibility for everyone. Persons with disabilities needing accommodations for this meeting should contact the DNR Parks and Recreation Division at (517) 335-4827 a minimum of five working days prior to the meeting to ensure accommodations can be arranged.
