Waterloo Recreation Area and Larry's RV Partner to Promote a 'GO-Get Outdoors' Event on May 14-18

Contact:  Gary Jones 734-475-8307
Agency: Natural Resources

April 30, 2008

A new partnership between Larry's RV Sales and the Waterloo Recreation Area has produced a great opportunity for the public to learn more about what Michigan state parks and recreation areas have to offer for outdoor recreation. Department of Natural Resources staff will be on hand during Larry's RV Sales' pre-Memorial Day sale event to discuss outdoor recreation opportunities in Michigan.

The event will take place at Larry's RV Center, located at 2501 Lansing Ave. in Jackson, on May 14-18. Park staff will be available to answer questions and provide information about Michigan state parks and recreation areas from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Larry's RV will also offer chances to receive, among other items, Michigan State Park gift certificates and 2008 Motor Vehicle Permits with the purchase of a recreational vehicle.

"We are excited to partner with local businesses to promote outdoor recreation," said Gary Jones, Waterloo park manager. "We look forward to meeting current and potential campers and to share information about Michigan's state parks and recreation areas."

Extended store hours for the event are:

  • Wednesday and Thursday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Sunday Noon - 6:00 p.m.

For more information about this event, contact Larry's RV Center at 517-787-3830. For information about the Waterloo Recreation Area or Michigan state parks and recreation areas, contact the park at 734-475-8307.
