Any private landowners or organizations with property in Michigan can request assistance. However, priority will be given to sites with LIP target species on or near the property, projects in priority areas, and projects to restore habitat in specific ecosystems. Be sure to visit the Upper Peninsula, northern Lower Peninsula, southwest Lower Peninsula, and southeast Lower Peninsula LIP region pages to view priority areas in those parts of the state.
If you qualify, you can apply for assistance by completing and submitting a Wildlife Habitat Management Assistance Request form. These forms are specific to each LIP region and are available on the respective LIP regional pages (see below.)
