Storage Fee Eliminated on Intermittent Camping (September 2008)
Intermittent Camping, a companion to the Gasoline Saving Storage Program has allowed for storage of camping units on campground sites in the winter, spring and fall seasons in many state parks and recreation area campgrounds.
It has been called "intermittent camping" because the camper leaves the camping rig in the park during the week and enjoys camping on the weekends without having to transport the trailer/RV back and forth from home.
In the past a camper had to pay a $4 per night fee for the week nights the site was unoccupied but used to store the camping equipment.
This program has been reviewed and the $4 fee for the unoccupied period will be eliminated.
Free nights will only be available Sunday through Thursday nights.
The full camping rate will be charged for Friday and Saturday nights.
Camping units must be unplugged and unoccupied to qualify for the free nights. If a camper decides to come out and stay for one of the storage nights they will need to pay the current rate upon arrival for that night.
The weekend prior to the storage period and the weekend following the storage period must be paid upon arrival at the park.
