Present members of the Board of Trustees, and the Executive Director of the Authority are as follows:
PATRICK J. DEVLIN, Chairperson (Trustee since June 30, 2005; term expires August 21, 2010). Mr. Devlin is the secretary and treasurer of the Greater Detroit Building & Construction Trades Council. He had previously been the Business Manager of Sprinkler Fitters Local 704. Mr. Devlin also serves on the State of Michigan Mechanical Board of Rules, Red Cross Southeast Michigan Chapter, Blue-Cross Blue Shield, Greater Detroit Health Care Coalition and the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy. Mr. Devlin resides in Livonia with his wife and two children.
EHRLICH J. CRAIN, Vice Chairperson (Trustee since February 14, 2006; term expiring August 21, 2009). Mr. Crain has extensive construction and real estate development experience. He attended Western Michigan University and is Vice President of Land Planning & Development of Crosswinds Communities a national real estate development firm. Mr. Crain is a board member of Homes for Black Children, past Chair of the Detroit Regional Chamber National Marketing Committee, Detroit Regional Chamber Leadership Detroit Economic Development Committee Chairman and a Special Director to the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation. Mr. Crain is a resident of Detroit
JOHN A. CLARK (Trustee since January 12, 2006 term expires August 21, 2009). Mr. Clark served the Detroit Police Department for thirty-one years before retiring as a Deputy Chief. During this time he also served as a Trustee for the Detroit Police and Fire Retirement System. Mr. Clark currently serves on the Governor's Transition Team for the Detroit Public Schools. Mr. Clark was a founder and member of the Board of Directors of the Detroit Police Command Officers Association, a labor union representing police command personnel. Mr. Clark is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy where he received his B.A and M.P.A degrees. Mr. Clark is currently the owner of the consulting firm Clark & Company, LLC. Mr. Clark resides in Detroit.
MARTY HANSEN MERCER
(Trustee since July 20, 2007; term expires August 21, 2012). Ms. Mercer was formerly in private law practice specializing in corporate and environmental law. She currently is employed as Corporate Counsel to R.W. Mercer Company, a petroleum and general contracting company. She is a member of the Michigan Bar Association. Ms. Mercer is currently serving on the Emeritus Trustee Committee of the Board of Directors of Jackson County Community Foundation. Ms. Mercer holds a Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University Law School and a Master of Science and Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Michigan University. She resides in Jackson with her husband and one daughter.
DAWN L. BATTS
(Trustee since July 20, 2007; term expires August 21, 2011). Ms. Batts is the Chief Financial Officer and Compliance Officer of Union Heritage Capital Management. She is currently a board member of Volunteers of America National and the board chairperson of Volunteers of America Michigan. Ms. Batts has taught at several Michigan institutions including Wayne County Community College, University of Michigan and Lawrence Technological Institute. Ms. Batts holds a Master of Business Administration from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Michigan State University.
DEBORAH M. ROBERTS, Executive Director. Ms. Roberts has been with the State since 1987, and began working with Department of Management and Budget in 1997. She was appointed Deputy Executive Director of the Authority in 2002, and Executive Director in 2006. Ms. Roberts holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Central Michigan University and is a certified public accountant.
