Yes. All shipments that require pallets must meet the following specifications:
-
Materials are to be on single face hardwood pallets with three 2" x 4" runners lengthwise the pallet.
-
Deck boards should be ¾" minimum thickness with 1½" maximum spacing.
-
Compression block construction is not acceptable.
-
Pallets are to be securely banded. and loads are not to exceed the size of the pallet.
-
Minimum and maximum dimensions:
Length: 44" minimum, 48" maximum
Width: 36" minimum, 48" maximum
Height: 5'6" including pallet
Weight: 4,000 maximum gross lbs.
The cost of palletizing must be included in the unit price, and all pallets become the property of the State of Michigan.
All cartons should be labeled as follows:
-
Commodity number
-
Description or form number
-
Purchase order number (if applicable)
-
Quantity per carton and number of packages inside (all cartons should be uniform in size and quantity)
-
Partial cartons should be placed on the top of the pallet and marked for easy identification.
