The first auctioneer school located inMichigan has received approval from the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth (DELEG) to provide a 96-hour auctioneer course that can be used toward meeting the initial registration requirements. Joey Dan Stone (a Registered Auctioneer) and staff, of the Dan Stone School of Auctioneering, will be offering the class in conjunction with the Monroe County Community College.
Apprentice Auctioneers completing a pre-approved auctioneer course and one year of apprentice experience are eligible to become Registered Auctioneers. The course will cover provisions of Article 29 (Auctioneer Registration in the Occupational Code, 1980 PA 299, as amended), ethics, recordkeeping, elementary mathematics, principles of real estate, personal property economics and elementary principles of law regarding bulk sales, deeds, mortgages, contracts of sale, agency, leases, auctions and brokerages.
