Information About Checking CE Hours

Check CE Credits Explanation

To check reported real estate continuing education (CE) clock hours reported to the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth (DELEG), first identify the licensee being checked.  By using either licensee name or license ID number, open the "Check a License" link here or under "Quick Links" in the right column of the Real Estate main page.  Once the licensee's name appears in blue, click on it and then scroll down to the "continuing education" blue link and click on it.  Since this is available to anyone who wishes to verify hours, DELEG encourages employing brokers to verify CE taken by all licensees so that renewal processing will not be delayed due to incorrect information or insufficient hours reported.

Real estate licenses expiring 10-31-2009 only count courses designated with "K" for credit toward license renewal.  Also, please note that if any of the reported K courses have already been used toward getting relicensed at any time during this three-year cycle, you cannot use those K courses again to count toward the hours you need to renew .  Two hours of legal updates are required annually and the courses designated as legal update have separate course numbers.

New Display Format for CE Hours :  The continuing education link for "Check a License" from which you can view CE hours has been updated to display two screens; both the "Current Cycle" (K) courses and "All Continuing Education" courses reported for you for all years.  You can toggle between displays to see one method of display at a time.  Please note that if a CE sponsor reports a course that has been taken twice (you repeated a course), the oldest course (course date) displays in the "Current Cycle" screen.  However, both courses and all hours will display in the "All Continuing Education" screen, but the duplicate/newer course will not count toward renewal .  In other words, you do not get credit twice.  There is explanatory wording concerning duplicate courses at the bottom of the "Current Cycle" CE screen.

If you have any questions about your hours or courses, contact the Department at 517-373-7353 or e-mail us at:  bcslic@michigan.gov
