Education Requirements for Examination Applicants
Current board rules require that applicants for the NCEES professional engineers examinations possess an ABET-EACor CEAB accredited bachelors degree in engineering.
Applicants who do not possess the accredited bachelors degree must obtain evaluation of their education equating it to ABET guidelines. The Board of Professional Engineers recommends the following:

Applicants who do not possess an ABET-EAC accredited degree must obtain an independent evaluation from NCEES Credentials Evaluation of their education equating it to the ABET standards, which includes at least 32 semester/48 quarter hours of math and basic science; 32 semester/48 quarter hours of engineering science; 16 semester/24 quarter hours of engineering design; and 16 semester/24 quarter hours of humanities and social science courses.
