Licensing Requirements

To obtain a mortuary science license in Michigan an applicant must meet requirements in the following areas:

Applicants licensed and in good standing in another state may apply for a reciprocal Michigan mortuary science license if the requirements under which the person's license was granted were comparable to those in effect at that time in Michigan.

In addition to the application forms, reciprocal applicants are required to provide verification from the state in which they are licensed that they have passed the National examination and that they are in good standing, and pass the Michigan State examination.
