The Michigan Bureau of Commercial Services, Corporation Division offers a seminar for new nonprofit officers, directors and members. Seminars are offered monthly from March thru October at our Okemos office (2501 Woodlake Circle, Okemos MI) from 12:30pm to 4:30pm. The 2009 seminar dates are: March 31, April 23, May 28, June 25, July 30, August, 27, September 30, October 29. There is a non-refundable fee of $50.00 per person for attending the seminar.
The seminar covers a wide variety of topics including director and officers duties and responsibilities, indemnification, charitable solicitations, financing, tax issues, filing requirements and record keeping.
Class size is limited so please submit your registration request, at least 2 weeks prior to the seminar. You will receive confirmation of your registration by email or phone call from the agency.
