 |  | Jan 19 / 06 | "What Every Low-Vision Patient Should Know," A Workshop on Maximizing Capabilities If You're Blind or Visually Impaired, Ann Arbor, January 19, 2006 The Michigan Commission for the Blind is offering this first session of a six-part workshop on how to accomplish various daily tasks, taught by certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapists. The January 19 session is titled "What Every Low-Vision Patient Should Know," and it will cover high- and low-tech magnifying devices, importance of lighting and glare control, using color and contrast, aspects of a low-vision exam, and more.

The January 26 session is titled "Transportation and Mobility Options," and topics will include para-transit, volunteers and paid drivers, local taxi services, orientation and mobility training, and using dogs and canes.
