Major Responsibilities of PA 48

METRO AUTHORITY

PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

Ø Carry out powers & duties of the Authority under PA 48 (Sec. 3(2))

Ø Prescribe form for application permits issued to municipalities (Sec. 6(1))

Ø Coordinate public right-of-way matters with municipalities (Sec. 3(3))

Ø Information requirements - disputed - Commission mediation (Sec. 6(2))

Ø Assess fees (Sec. 3(3))

Ø Tracking of municipalities granting/denial of permits and
maintaining of web site (Sec. 6(6))

Ø Filing of annual report (Sec. 3(4))

Ø Mapping of new completed facilities - route maps (Sec. 6(7))

Ø Promulgate rules (Sec. 3(5))

Ø Determine if route maps are paper or electronic form (Sec. 6(8))

Ø Determine amount of fees for each provider (Sec. 8(2))
