The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today announced the appointment of Mary Jo Kunkle as its executive secretary.

The MPSC executive secretary is responsible for overseeing the programs, activities and staff of the executive secretary section within the MPSC’s regulatory affairs division.  Programs relate to the maintenance and security of official dockets and Freedom of Information Act requests.

“Mary Jo’s expertise on Commission matters has been a great asset to the MPSC over the years,” said MPSC Chair J. Peter Lark.  “Her background has equipped her well for the role of executive secretary.”

Kunkle, of Okemos, has most recently served as the manager of the MPSC’s Customer Choice section.  Prior to that, she was the Commission’s media relations specialist.  She earned both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in public administration from Michigan State University.

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Labor & Economic Growth.
