CIS Representative Available for Comment at Tyson-Golota Fight Activities Oct. 19-20 at the Palace of Auburn Hills

OCTOBER 19, 2000 - The Michigan Department of Consumer & Industry Services, the state agency which regulates professional boxing, will have a representative available for media interviews at the Tyson-Golota fight activities scheduled for Oct. 19-20 at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

 

CIS’ Bureau of Commercial Services Director Andy Metcalf will be available for comment at the Tyson-Golota weigh-in, physicals and fight night activities. Metcalf will have copies available for the media of the Association of Boxing Commission (ABC) uniform championship rules (which apply to the championship fight) and the Michigan rules (which apply to the Tyson-Golota fight) and will be able to offer insight on the rule differences. Metcalf will be attending the activities to ensure the activities meet the State of Michigan’s rules and statutes.

 

Andy Metcalf will be available for comment at the following pre-fight and fight activities, all of which will be held at the Palace of Auburn Hills:

 

October 19, 2000

6-7 p.m. - Weigh-in for Tyson and Golota (Palace atrium)

 

October 20, 2000

6-7 p.m. - Physicals for Tyson and Golota (Palace)

Approx. 11 p.m. - Tyson-Golota fight is last scheduled fight of the evening (Palace)
