DECEMBER 4, 2001 - Guardian Industries’ Carleton facility received the Consultation Education and Training Bronze Award for an outstanding safety and health record from the Michigan Department of Consumer & Industry Services (CIS) on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001.

The Consultation Education and Training (CET) Division of the CIS Bureau of Safety and Regulation recognizes the safety and health achievements of Michigan employers and employees through CET Awards, which are based on excellent safety and health performance.  The CET Bronze Award recognizes leadership and commitment to workplace safety and health resulting in significant improvement of their Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Act (MIOSHA) record.

“I am pleased today to recognize the outstanding safety and health achievements of both the employees and management at the Carleton plant,” said BSR Director Doug Earle.  “I applaud your efforts to make workplace safety your number one concern.”

BSR Director Earle presented the award to Carleton Plant Manager Don Tullman.  Upon Tullman’s arrival in 1998, safety and loss control became the number one priority in the Carleton facility.   “I learned early from Guardian mentors that a safe and well-kept plant provides the foundation for a more content and productive workforce,” said Tullman.

Carleton plant specializes in architectural and automotive glass products, including glass coatings.
