December 7, 2008 - This full-day seminar covers the requirements of General Industry Safety Standard Part 85, Control of Hazardous Energy Sources, and machine guarding requirements. Topics include recognition of energy sources, creation of written programs, employee training, annual inspections and normal production operation exemptions. Employee protection through the use an application of machine guards and devices as required by various MIOSHA standards is covered in detail.
The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) Consultation Education and Training (CET) Division offers seminars, courses and workshops statewide. These programs have a small fee and are open to general public attendance. The MIOSHA program is part of the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth (DLEG).
