ADVISORY - Acument Global Technologies - Holly Operations Gainey Drive to Receive Star Award for Workplace Safety & Health Excellence

June 18, 2008 - Acument Global Technologies − Holly Operations Gainey Drive will receive the Star Award, the state's highest workplace safety and health award, from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA), at a special ceremony and luncheon Friday, June 20, 11:00 a.m., 10160 Gainey Drive, in Holly.

The Michigan Voluntary Protection Programs (MVPP) Star Award for outstanding safety and health programs is awarded by MIOSHA, and recognizes worksites that provide exemplary safety and health protection for their workers. The MIOSHA program is part of the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth (DLEG).

MIOSHA Director Doug Kalinowski will present the MVPP Star Award to Jim O'Dea, Plant Manager, Holly Operations, and the facility's Safety and Health Committee. Martin Schnurr, Vice President & General Manager, Acument North America will congratulate employees on their safety and health success. Employees and guests will attend the presentation and luncheon.

Acument Global Technologies, Inc. is a world leader in fastening technology, with 8,500 employees in more than 17 countries. The Holly Operations Gainey Drive facility employs 27 workers and produces metal washers for the automotive fastener industry.
