12, 2008 - The Governor's Interagency Task Force on Employee
Misclassification will hold a public meeting on Tuesday,
June 17, 2008. The meeting will be held
at 2:00 p.m. in the Unemployment
Insurance Agency's (UIA) Problem Resolution Office, 5015 South Cedar St., Lansing, MI 48910-5798.
The Task Force, which is chaired by Keith
Cooley, director of the Department of Labor & Economic Growth, is examining
the issue of workers who are misclassified as "independent contractors," rather
than as employees, and the related problem of the underground economy.
