NOVEMBER 14, 2007 - The Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth has unveiled a new and improved Michigan Jobs & Career Portal (www.michigan.gov/careers). The website, first launched in 2003, continues to grow and add new resources including:

  • virtual tours of the website to walk visitors through the site's features;
  • virtual campus tours of Michigan colleges and universities;
  • educational initiatives supported by major corporation (i.e. Ford, GM, Microsoft, Intel);
  • healthcare job openings by facility (i.e. hospital, clinic, HMO);
  • teacher and faculty job openings by school district;
  • a web page of financial resources;
  • 40 new job and career fairs posted monthly;
  • and more than 100,000 Michigan job openings, extracted from online job boards.

Approximately 150,000 people visit the website each month.

"The award-winning Michigan Jobs & Career Portal has been enormously popular with students, parents, teachers, job-seekers and employers so we are constantly making enhancements to have all of the tools and resources they need in a one-stop shop," said DLEG Director Keith W. Cooley.
