Fraternal producer

An individual may transact insurance for a fraternal benefit society without being licensed as an insurance producer if less than 50 percent of that person’s time is devoted to soliciting and procuring insurance business for the society. Fifty percent of an individual's time is defined as insurance business which does not exceed $50,000 face value or 25 individuals during a 12 month period.

All other individuals transacting insurance for a fraternal benefit society must be licensed. Such individuals must meet all the requirements for licensure as specified in How to become licensed as a resident producer or How to become licensed as a non-resident producer.
