How to become a licensed insurance adjuster for multi-peril crop insurance


Per Bulletin 2008-01-INS , an individual who is applying to adjust multi-peril crop insurance (MPCI) is no longer subject to a written examination.  To become licensed submit the following:


1. Application/license fee.   

  • $15.00 check or money order payable to State of Michigan.  


2. Application.  FIS 0221 Michigan Application for Individual Non-Producer Insurance License

3. Name and NAIC number of a Federal Crop Insurance Corporation approved insurance provider (AIP) for which the applicant adjusts losses.  Applicant will provide on the application the name and NAIC number of an AIP for which applicant will adjust MPCI losses.  The NAIC number may be obtained from our homepage under Featured Services > Insurance Entity Locator

Crop/hail only insurance adjusters:  An individual who will be adjusting only crop hail must become licensed as an insurance adjuster for fire and other hazards.
