FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 23, 2009
Contact: Jason Moon  517-335-1700

LANSING- The Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation (OFIR) today announced that it is holding quarterly free seminars for the state's first and second mortgage licensees and registrants as well as for consumer financial services licensees. The next seminar takes place on May 6, 2009 at Western Michigan University's Grand Rapids Graduate Center.

"This is a great opportunity for direct communication on hot topics in the Michigan market," said OFIR Commissioner Ken Ross. "I encourage all of Michigan's mortgage licensees to register for these free events."

The seminars cover important topics to all licensees, registrants and applicants. Specifically, speakers will discuss licensing, complaints, examinations and enforcement. The seminars are also an excellent opportunity to ask questions of OFIR staff.

Mortgage licensees can register by visiting: http://www.dleg.state.mi.us/email_parser/mortgage_seminars.htm .

Upcoming mortgage seminars will take place on August 5, 2009 in Troy and November 4, 2009 in Lansing.
