LANSING –Shelley McCarthy, a supervisory examiner with the Office of Financial and Insurance Services (OFIS), was recently named Chairwoman of the Curriculum Committee and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Education Foundation of State Bank Supervisors (EFSBS). The EFSBS is the examiner education arm of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS), a national organization of state banking departments.
In her new role Ms. McCarthy will oversee the content and delivery of education programs for bank examiners around the country. She has been a long-time technical school instructor for bank examiners and most recently helped develop the curriculum for the EFSBS Problem Bank School for examiners. She also served as this new school’s first instructor.
“Shelley continues to be a high performing member of our bank examination team,” OFIS Acting Commissioner Ken Ross said. “Her appointment is well deserved and I am confident Shelley will do a great job in her new leadership role for EFSBS.”
Shelley is an 18-year employee with OFIS and is currently assigned as lead examiner for one of the largest state-charted banks in Michigan. She resides in Rochester Hills with her husband John and son Matthew.
