ADVISORY - Governor's Interagency Task Force On Employee Misclassification To Hold Public Hearing On June 30, 2008, In Farmington

JUNE 24, 2008 - The Governor's Interagency Task Force on Employee Misclassification will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 30, 2008 in Farmington. The meeting will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Michigan Liquor Control Commission Hearing Room 2, 24155 Drake Rd.

Lt. Governor John Cherry will be attending the hearing and will be making introductory remarks. The hearing will be conducted by Keith Cooley, director of the Department of Labor & Economic Growth and chair of the Task Force. The Task Force is examining the issue of workers who are misclassified as "independent contractors," rather than as employees, and the related problem of the underground economy.
