Does DIT play an IT role outside of state government?

Answer:

DIT has recently formed the Office of Technology Partnerships (OTP) in order to foster relationships outside of state government. Initial projects, such as MiDeal, aim to save universities and local municipalities money by aggregating their purchase volumes with the state’s to achieve lower costs. OTP has also fostered stronger ties with communities through efforts such as “Wayne County: Connecting the Partners,” a program through which DIT was able to place recycled computers with faith-based organizations in Wayne County in order to help bridge the digital divide.
